A village is located along the Żabniczka stream from Węgierska Górka to the mountains. It lays in the Żywiec Beskids 600 meters above sea level between Abramów (800 meters) and Prusów. The village covers an area of 3449,61 hectares where 411,56 hectares are covered by arable lands, 436,12 hectares by meadows, 15,03 hectares by grazing lands and 2165,14 hectares by forests. The landscape of Żabnica is a popular place with the inhabitants of the Silesia, Cracow and Warsaw who  built their chalets here. The places worth visiting in Żabnica include the local church, which is adorned with paintings and sculptures, and the old bell tower. All tourists are welcome to the picturesque surroundings of Żabnica, where there are private lodgings, hostels, boarding houses as well as service and trade institutions. A large selection of attractions i.a. ski slopes  and mountains trails  can provide the tourists with unforgettable moments not only in summer but also in winter.  

The church dedicated to Madonna of Częstochowa in Żabnica is a wooden church built between 1910 and 1914 and extended between 1957 and 1961 to the state seen today. The church was erected on the initiative of priest Jan Figura from the parish of Milówka. It was built by the carpenters under the supervision of master craftsman Jan Kurowski from Kamesznica. Ten farmers gave their plots of land to the construction and the wood was delivered by the inhabitants from Żabnica and Żywiec. Archduke Charles Stephen of Austria (House of Habsburg) also gave the wood from his forests. In 1914, the construction was completed and sacred by the parish priest from the parish of Milówka – priest Piotr Pardykuła. In 1915, a bell tower was built. The main altar in the church is dedicated to Madonna of Częstochowa and the side altars are dedicated to St. Joseph and St. Anne.

There were made in 1914 by the sculptor Jarząbek from Kęty. In 1918, Żabnica became an independent pastoral institution by the edict of Cracow bishop. Priest Mieczysław Danielczek is a current parish priest, who has been serving it for 25 years. The church is on the on the Route of Wooden Architecture in Silesian Voivodeship in the Beskids. The chapel, which was probably built in the 18th century, is worth visiting. It is located by the trial to Rysianka. Another interesting place is the chapel-bell tower in “Myce”. Its bell reminds the inhabitants of i.a. the prayer in the morning and in the evening. It  also rang when there was a fire.

The next place is the statue that commemorates 10 deceased Poles who were killed in 1943. There are also forts, that contributed to the defense of Węgierska Górka i.e. Wyrwidąb Fort, Wąwóz Fort and Wędrowiec Fort, where tourists can visit a Hall of Memory about forts and military actions in 1939.

The culture of higlanders, especially form Żywiec, is cultivated in Żabnica. In 1998, the Regional Children Group “Mały Haśnik” was founded. There are about 80 children, the pupils from school in Węgierska Górka and Żabnica. The group takes part not only in local but also international contests, where it repeatedly won the first prize. There is also the brass band from Żabnica that performs during many celebrations. It was founded on the initiative of Catholic Action. Arkadiusz Talik was the founder.
