Cięcina is an extensive village in the south of Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship in Gmina Węgierska Górka. It is located on the right bank of the Soła, at the mouth of the Cięcinka spring at the height of 380 meters above sea level. The landscape of Cięcina is characterized by rounded mountain ridges and quite steep hillsides. It does not form a plain mountain range but is divided into several mountain groups of equatorial character: Baranie Góra, Abrahamów range and of longitudinal Kiczera and Magura. The oldest historical notes of settlement in Żywiec region can be found in the writings by Jan Długosz in 14th century from the diocese of Cracow. The oldest note of Żywiec and Cięcina, where 150 people lived, comes form 1308.
