It was built between 1910 and 1914 and extended between 1957 and 1961 in a way that can be seen today. The church is situated on the Route of Wooden Architecture in Silesian Voivodeship within the Beskids Route. The church was erected by the initiative of priest Jan Figura, from the parish in Milówka dedicated to The Assumption of Mary.
Jan Kurowski from Kamesznica was the master carpenter. The wood was provided by the inhabitans of Żabnica and archduke Charles Stephen of Austria (House of Habsburg). In 1914, the building was sacred by the parish priest from Milówka, Piotr Padykuła. A tower was built next year. The church became the parish church in 1918. The extension took place between 1957 and 1961. In 1984, two stained glasses were inserted. The cover of the roof was changed from eternit (asbestos cement roofing material) to sheeting two years later.
The church is erected on the rock underpinning. The roof has two ridges and it is covered by sheeting. It has a small tower. The presbytery in enclosed by many walls. The sacristy is in the north and there are two chapels in both sides of the central nave. There is a tower in the west ended with a round tented roof. The decor is modern and neo-baroque.
In the main alter there is a painting of the Madonna with the Child in metal dresses. It was painted by some sculptor from Kety in 1917. Moreover, there are two side altars dedicated to St. Joseph and St. Anne, the pulpit, the organ, wooden chandeliers, made by the local sculptor Józef Kupczak, and stations of the cross bought in Wrocław during the construction.
